(HOWE) – Authorities have arrested a man for allegedly assaulting his mother.

The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office was called to a residence at 7370 East State Road 120 in Howe just before 5 PM Monday regarding a disturbance. Officers say their investigation revealed earlier that same day, 49 year old Brett Maskow became involved in a verbal altercation with his mother Barb Maskow. The argument was over some documents that Maskow reportedly had taken from his mother.

The incident escalated when Maskow struck his mother's vehicle with a blunt object. He then grabbed his mother by her hair and left arm in an attempt to remove her from a tractor she was driving. Barb Maskow complained to deputies of pain in her right knee after this incident.

Brett Maskow was arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail on charges of domestic battery, criminal confinement and intimidation.

The matter has been forwarded to the LaGrange County Prosecutor's Office for review.
