(WHITE PIGEON) – The White Pigeon Jr/Sr High School building will be moving to virtual learning for a short time.
In a letter to the School District, Superintendent Jon Keyer and Associate Superintendent Carrie Erlandson announced that two individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Jr/Sr. High School. They were last in the building October 5.
Keyer says in working with the Community Health Agency, it was decided that school for the Jr/Sr High School will move to virtual learning starting today, October 14 and will not return to in person learning until October 26.
Central Elementary will not be impacted by this decision and will continue in person learning.
In addition, Keyer says all athletic contests involving White Pigeon High School and Middle School are canceled for the remainder of the week. They will begin playing athletic events again on October 19.
The CHA gave White Pigeon the green light to play athletics, but the decision to cancel was made by White Pigeon's opponents.
