(THREE RIVERS) – Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services has a new Executive Director.
The DASAS Board of Directors has announced that Krista DeBoer has been hired to serve as their new Executive Director. She began her new duties on October 1.
Originally from Oak Park, Illinois, DeBoer moved to Michigan in 2007 after graduating from Columbia College in Abbotsford, British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Caregiving and Counseling. After a time serving as a volunteer in West Africa, she returned to Michigan and began working on a Master's of Social Work Degree at Western Michigan University-Southwest.
DeBoer's first internship was at DASAS. She later worked for Cass County Community Mental Health as a home based clinician with children and families. She later served as a DASAS board member and then was hired in February 2019 by DASAS as a Sexual Assault Therapist.
DASAS Board President Bill Furr says it's always exciting to see leadership from within. He says the DASAS Board is happy to have Krista step into this new role with her experience, knowledge and passion for serving the community and the DASAS employees.
DeBoer takes over for Rose Ludwick, who stepped down as DASAS Executive Director in February. Deborah Hackworth, the DASAS Director of Advocacy Services, has been serving as the Interim Executive Director.
