(LAGRANGE COUNTY) – A suspect is in custody following a two county pursuit.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office was notified at 2:10 AM Sunday of a vehicle pursuit that was coming towards the County from 200 West and U.S. 20 in Steuben County.
LaGrange County deputies arrived in the area of 1150 East and U.S. 20, where they located a silver colored Cadillac STS heading west at a high rate of speed. They activated their overhead lights and began pursuing the suspect vehicle.
The suspect lost control of the vehicle and went off the road in the area of 900 East and U.S. 20. A man got out of the vehicle and ran away. Officers caught up with the man, identified as James Johnson, and after a brief scuffle, he was taken into custody. He was taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital where he was evaluated and medically cleared.
Johnson was then transported to the LaGrange County Jail where he was locked up on charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, and resisting law enforcement.
The matter has been forwarded to the LaGrange County Prosecutor's Office for review.
