(FORT WAYNE) – Two Northeast Indiana hospitals are implementing visitor restrictions to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Parkview Health Public Relations Manager Tami Brigle says effective immediately, the following restrictions are in place at both Parkview LaGrange Hospital and Parkview Noble Hospital. One visitor per patient will be permitted in the facility's inpatient unit. One adult visitor per inpatient for the duration of the patient's stay, with visiting hours limited from 12 PM to 8 PM daily.
In addition, only one adult visitor will be allowed in the Emergency Department, the Family Birthing Center, Pediatrics and for Inpatient and Outpatient Procedures for the duration of the patient's stay.
No visitors will be permitted for hospital patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. Exceptions may be granted for end of life situations on a case by case basis.
Authorized visitors will be identified with a wristband provided by hospital staff. Additional visitors will not be permitted in lobby areas.
Brigle says the following policies and procedures apply to all permitted visitors: They must be at least 18 years old; they must not have any symptoms of COVID-19 and will be subject to screening on arrival; and all visitors and patients are required to wear a face make at all times inside any Parkview facility. If they don't have a mask, one will be given upon arrival.
The main entrance for both Parkview LaGrange Hospital and Parkview Noble Hospital will be open weekdays from 6 AM until 5 PM and the Emergency Entrance will also be open.
