(ALBION) – The Lakeland girls basketball team jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter, but had to rally for a win over host Central Noble 44-40 in an opening round game of the NECC Tournament. Lakeland's Bailey Hartsough led her team with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocks, and fouled out with 34 seconds left in the game. Teammate Faith Riehl added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Lydia Andrews had 14 points for Central Noble while Meghan Kiebel had 13 points. Central Noble is now 11-4 on the season. Lakeland improves to 13-4 and will take on host Prairie Heights in a second round game. You will hear that game on WTHD 105.5, starting at 5:40 PM with the pre-game show.
