(THREE RIVERS) – The St. Joseph County Commission On Aging is going to hold off on offering in person exercise classes.
The COA had announced that starting this week they would be offering group exercise classes at both of their enrichment centers, with limited class sizes and all precautions being taken. This was after the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that it was allowing group exercise classes.
COA Life Enrichment Manager Ruth Mancina says after digging further into the State's website, they discovered that group exercise would be allowed, but not at senior centers.
Mancina says because of that, they will not be offering any group exercise classes until the State says it is permitted in the COA's centers.
The COA will continue to offer exercise classes and crafts on its Facebook page and on its YouTube channel for seniors.
Mancina apologizes for the confusion. If anyone has questions, they can call the COA at 269-279-8083.
