(NEWBERG TOWNSHIP) – A one vehicle crash injured a Dowagiac man.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says at 9:50 PM Saturday, 19 year old Michael Schlup was driving in the 57,000 block of Patterson Hill Road and attempted to turn into a driveway, but struck a tree.
Schlup was taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. It is not known if he had his seat belt on. Investigators say drugs or medical reasons may have been a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
Assisting at the scene was the Newburg Township Fire and Ambulance.
