(COLDWATER) – The drivers of two vehicles were injured in a crash at the intersection of Marshall and Taylor Streets in Coldwater.
The Coldwater Police Department was called to the scene just before 7 AM Wednesday. Officers say a southbound automobile was on Marshall Street and tried to overtake the second automobile, and struck it from behind. The struck vehicle then crashed into a Coldwater Board of Public Utilities pole, knocking out power to approximately 50 customers.
Both of the drivers were taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to be examined and treated for their injuries.
CBPU crews were called to the scene to make necessary repairs and get power restored.
The matter is still being investigated. The Coldwater Fire Department along with Life Care Ambulance assisted Police with the injured drivers. The Branch County Sheriff's Department and Michigan State Police helped out with traffic control.
