(ELKHART) – A six vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon sent a man to the hospital with possible life threatening injuries.
According to the Elkhart Police Department, the crash happened at 12:10 PM at the intersection of East Bristol Street and Osolo Road. Investigators determined that a GMC Acadia struck a Honda Accord and a Chrysler Pacific. The collision pushed the Accord into two other vehicles.
The Acadia then struck a Ford pick up, which spun out of control and finally stopped on the opposite side of the intersection.
When first responders arrived, the Acadia was against a pole on the northwest side of the intersection. The driver was trapped inside and needed to be removed. He was taken to an area hospital to be treated for a a serious cut to the head and other injuries.
Authorities say no other serious injuries were reported in the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
