(STURGIS) – A long time member of the Sturgis community has received a very special award.
During their meeting Thursday, the Sturgis Exchange Club gave their annual Book Of Golden Deeds Award to Joe Haas. This is the highest recognition given by the Exchange Club. It recognizes the truly outstanding contributions made by a person or persons to their country, community or fellowman.
Haas’ son Patrick, along with friends Kelly Hostetler and Mike Hughes shared about Haas and what he had done over his time that earned him this award, such as being involved with many different organizations and helping with projects and events.
Haas says giving back to the community is something that was shown to him at a very early age by his family. LINKC.
Haas also thanked his wife Joyce and his sons Patrick and Jacob for supporting him with his involvement in the community. He also thanked previous Exchange Club members and mentors who showed him that giving back was all about.
The Sturgis Exchange Club has been giving the Book Of Golden Deed Awards since 1940.
