(STURGIS) – One of the biggest road reconstruction projects will be taking place in 2019.
The City of Sturgis will be reconstructing North Lakeview Street. During a recent visit to the WBET Morning Show, Sturgis City Manager Mike Hughes says he is excited to see the project finally getting done.
The project is part of the City's ten year plan with funds coming from the dedicated street millage. The State of Michigan is giving $375,000 towards the project, which has a total amount of $1.3 million.
The work will run from Chicago Road north to the railroad tracks.
Hughes says he hopes people will be patient as this project is going on, because it will cause people to re-route their regular travel plans.
