(STURGIS) – Work is starting this week on the North Lakeview reconstruction project.
City Officials say that this week utility companies will begin working as part of the overall reconstruction project that will take place this year. As a result, North Lakeview will be closed to through traffic from Chicago Road north to Main Street. A detour route has been established that takes thru traffic from Chicago Road onto North Prospect Street to Main Street and then to North Lakeview.
The utility work is part of the broader reconstruction of North Lakeview that will take place during the first part of 2019. Starting with this utility work, North Lakeview from U.S. 12 to the railroad tracks is expected to be closed to traffic and be under construction from now until the end of the project, which will be in August. Timelines are subject to weather and contractor schedules.
City officials are asking all motorists to please slow down and obey all traffic control devices in this area.
