(EDWARDSBURG) – A two state chase ended peacefully over the weekend.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department assisted with a police pursuit that started in Elkhart County, Indiana and crossed over into Michigan around 2:25 PM Sunday. The vehicle went into the Edwardsburg area, where the suspect fled from the automobile and went into a residence at 21615 Channel Parkway. The driver barricaded himself inside the home and was believed to be armed.
Officers started negotiations via a cellphone and after approximately 50 minutes, the suspect came out of the home and gave himself up.
Officers say the man was driving a stolen vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
