(LAGRANGE) - The LaGrange County Council approved both readings of an ordinance Monday that would change who collects the county’s innkeepers’ tax.

Council President Peter Cook says with the County collecting the inkeepers' tax, they don't get everyone paying. By letting the State do it, they would have a little more teeth behind them if someone is late paying. Cook says there would be no cost to the County in doing this and it's one less task the Assessor's Office has to worry about.
