(PENN TOWNSHIP) – A weekend incident at a Cass County lake landed a man in the hospital.
Cass County Sheriff Richard Benhke says his deputies were called to the 17,000 block of Donnell Lake Street at 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Their investigation determined that 50 year old Parish Swanson of Aurora, Illinois was on the dock near the lake. His sons were playing around with Swanson, and pushed him off the dock into the lake.
After an unknown time under water, the boys were able to bring Swanson back to shore.
CPR was performed on Swanson. Life Care Ambulance arrived and took him to Elkhart General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Assisting at the scene was the Cass County Marine Division, and the Penn Township Fire Department. The incident is still under investigation.
