(VANDALIA) – Authorities are investigating a shooting in Vandalia.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department along with Life Care Ambulance were sent to the 62,000 block of Cass Avenue in Vandalia at 10 PM Friday on a call of a man shot in the abdomen. When they arrived, emergency responders starting giving first aid to 37 year old James Hodges, Jr. West Michigan Air Care was called in and flew Hodges to South Bend Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
Deputies conducted an investigation and determined a domestic altercation happened between Hodges and a 15 year old, who allegedly shot Hodges. The suspect's name is not being released due to his juvenile status.
So far no arrest has been made, as the case is still under investigation.
