
(UNDATED) – The University of Michigan basketball program is a finalist for one of the top prospects in the class of 2020. Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 5-star guard Jaden Springer included the Wolverines in his top five on Monday night, along with Florida, Memphis, North Carolina and Tennessee. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Springer, listed at 6 feet 4 and 195 pounds, is the No. 11 overall recruit in the nation, the No. 3 shooting guard and the No. 3 prospect in Florida. Springer helped lead IMG Academy to the national title in the GEICO High School Nationals last season. He tallied 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds in the final against No. 1 La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere. As a sophomore at Rocky River High in North Carolina, Springer averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds, leading his school to the 4A Western Regional championship game. Springer did not previously include U-M in his top 11. Springer's cousin, Atlanta Hawks forward DeAndre' Bembry, played under Michigan assistant Phil Martelli at St. Joseph's from 2013-16.
