(UNDATED) – The 2020 Mr. Basketball Award was handed out this week, and already the 2021 Mr. Basketball watch list has been announced. And two area athletes are being noticed by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. Junior Thomas Kurowski of Sturgis has been tagged as a player to watch. He scored 50 percent of his team's points in the 2019-2020 season, averaging 27.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game. He went over the 500 point mark for the season. He also scored 40 points or more three different times. Sturgis finished the season 9-12. Also on the watch list is Marcellus junior Gavin Etter. He made 42 percent of the 164 3 point attempts he took in the 2019-202 season. He was able to average 22.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
