(WHITE PIGEON) – It was just like a heavyweight fight as Mendon opened their season at White Pigeon in a Southwest 10 match up. White Pigeon scored last, and were moving down the field when time ran out, and they lost to Mendon 26-24. Jackson Crotser led the Horents offense with 33 carries for 290 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jaquan Hodges had 12 carries for 53 yards as Mendon had 371 yards of total offense, all on the ground. Tristen Shimel led the Mendon defense with 13 tackles. Chris Dupree and Carter Briggs each had 9 tackles. For White Pigeon, Anthony Rubio led the way with 15 carries for 136 yards and a TD. Collin Mayville had 9 carries for 52 yards, while Daniel Jackson was 5 of 11 for 77 yards. On defense, Dylan Carper recovered a fumble and returned it 71 yards for a score.
