(LANSING) - A Bronson man had a probable cause conference after allegedly making a threatening phone call.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says 50 year old Gabriel Hetrick is charged with a count of making a terroristic threat and one count of malicious use of telecommunications service.

On September 17, 2025 Hetrick allegedly called the Michigan State Capitol to inquire about tour availability. During the call, Hetrick allegedly stated that he was "going to start hunting Republicans".

Nessel says threats against elected officials are serious crimes that can have severe consequences. She says public officials must be able to carry out their roles without fear and her office will continue to hold those who threaten to harm others accountable.

Hetrick is scheduled to have a preliminary examination on February 19.
