(CASSOPOLIS) - A person familiar with Cass County government has been named to a new position.
The Cass County Commission voted to offer Jennifer Rentfrow the position of County Administrator. She has served as the Interim County Administrator since December 2024 and has also served as the Cass County Finance Director since May 2021.
In a posting on the Cass County website County Commission Chairman Jeremiah Jones says that Rentfrow has done an outstanding job keeping the county operations moving forward and the Board has full confidence in her ability to continue to lead the county as Administrator.
Rentfrow is an Edwardsburg native and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. She brings 25 years of accounting experience and has over a decade in leadership and public service roles. Rentfrow has also served on several boards and committees, including being the Chair of the Department of Human Services and the Cass County Medical Care Facility Board.
Rentfrow and the Commission will work together to finalize a contract.
Rentfrow takes over for Patrick Jordan, who was terminated by the Commission in September, following an investigation into allegations of discriminatory comments. The Commission voted unanimously to terminate Jordan's contract for cause after finding that his actions violated the County's standards of professionalism and respect.
