(INDIANAPOLIS) - Counties in Northeast Indiana saw their unemployment rates rise from December to January.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says LaGrange County saw a slight increase in unemployment going from 2% to 2.4%.
Noble County went up from 2.4% to 2.9%. Elkhart County increased from 2.6% to 2.9% and DeKalb County saw a jump from 2.3% to 2.8%.
Steuben County had the largest increase from 2.4% to 3.1%.
City unemployment rates also went up around Northeast Indiana. Fort Wayne went from 2.6% to 3.9%. Elkhart had a small increase from 3% to 3.3% while Goshen increased from 2.5% to 3%.
Statewide, the Indiana unemployment rate went up from a December figure of 2.6% to 3.3%.
