Holtz sets school record in 3200 as Sturgis girls win track meets
(OTSEGO) - The Sturgis girls track team picked up two wins in Wolverine Conference action, beating host Otsego 83-54 and Paw Paw 97-40. Berkley Holtz set a new school record in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:09.63, surpassing Ann Marie Arseneau's record set in 2011. Holtz also took first in the 1600 meters and was part of the winning 3200 meter relay team with Tessa Hatt, Kinder Smith and Sydney Bir in a season best time. The team of Addison Eicher, Smith, Madelyn Oswald and Angela Cary won the 400 meter relay, while Eicher, Cary, Bir and Smith won the 800 meter relay. Oswald was also first in the pole vault. Cary won the long jump and the high jump. Juliet Mendoza ran a lifetime best in the 100 meter hurdles to take first place.
Sturgis boys track team goes 1-1 at Otsego dual meet
(OTSEGO) - It was a 1-1 night for the Sturgis boys track team as the Trojans beat Paw Paw 76-60 but lost to host Otsego 95-42. Wyatt Miller was first in the 110 meter hurdles in a lifetime best time. The 400 meter relay team of Lukis Bir, Caleb Hohn, Beckett Lam and Drake Fisher were first in a season best time, as did the 800 meter relay team of Fisher, Lamb, Hohn and Ian Johnson, who also finished first.
