(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is putting out a call for outdoor enthusiasts to help shape the future of the state's trail system.

The DNR is accepting nominations now through December 30th for openings on the Indiana Trails Advisory Board. They're looking for representatives from a wide range of trail-user groups -- including hikers, mountain bikers, accessibility advocates, and trail support organizations.

Nominees should be active in a regional or statewide group connected to the user category they represent. Board members will serve a three-year term beginning in March of 2026 and attend quarterly, in-person meetings at rotating locations across the state.

The 15-member volunteer board advises the DNR on trail issues, explores new trail projects, and shares updates from their user communities.

More information and nomination forms are available at on.IN.gov/trails-board.
