(COLON) - It had the atmosphere of a playoff game as the Mendon boys basketball team traveled to Colon for an SCAA West matchup. It took overtime to settle the game as Mendon beat the host Magi 80-73. Owen Gorham led the Hornets with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. Ryder Gorham added 23 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Carter Huston had 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Dalton Williams led Colon and all scorers with 32 points in the Magi home and season opener. Quincy Blair added 25 points and Brennan Morrell had 11 points. With the win, Mendon improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the SCAA West. Colon is 0-1 overall and in the SCAA West.
