(CENTREVILLE) - A woman accused of criminal sexual conduct charges had entered a plea of no contest.
St. Joseph County Circuit Court officials say 34 year old Kaitlyn Sand of Three Rivers plead no contest Monday to two felony charges of third degree criminal sexual conduct. With that plea, the other felony charges against her including two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of tampering with evidence in a criminal case, will all be dismissed.
Sand's bond was cancelled and she was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
It's alleged that Sand sexually assaulted two minor victims between February and April 2023. During their investigation, the Mendon Police Department says Sand met the victims through her job as a contract employee in the food service department at Mendon Jr/Sr. High School. She also allegedly used several social media platforms to contact the victims repeatedly.
Sand is scheduled to be sentenced on January 23 at 2 PM in Circuit Court. She could face up to 15 years in prison.
