(COLDWATER) – Today is an opportunity to safely get rid of unwanted prescription drugs.
It’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Area police departments and pharmacies will have boxes set up for community members to bring in any unused prescription medications.
In St. Joseph County, there are several drop off locations. In Sturgis, drop off boxes will be set up at the Sturgis Police Department; the Sturgis Meijer Pharmacy and the Walgreen Pharmacy. In Three Rivers, boxes are going to be at the Three Police Department and the Meijer Pharmacy. There will also be boxes at the Constantine Police Department and the Colon Police Department.
In Branch County, drop off locations will be the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, the Union City Police Department, ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital and the Coldwater Meijer Pharmacy.
Hillsdale County residents can drop off their old prescription medications at the Hillsdale Police Department and the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department; The Jonesville Police Department, the Reading Police Department and the Somerset Township Fire Department.
The drop off boxes will be available from 10 AM until 2 PM.
