(CENTREVILLE) – Some new union contracts are hoped to be approved soon for some St. Joseph County groups.
During Tuesday’s St. Joseph County Commission Executive Committee meeting, County Administrator Teresa Cupp shared that the County and six unions have tentatively ratified agreements. The next step to activate the agreements is to have them approved by the Commission during their meeting next Tuesday.
The six unions are AFSCME units: District Court Association; Friend of the Court; Family Court; Probate Court; General Unity and FOP Corrections Division. Those unions represent 60 people.
The agreements, if approved, would be for three years each and retroactive to January 1.
Cupp also says that she is continuing to negotiate contracts with Central Dispatch; the Police Officers Association of Michigan Road Patrol and its Road Command.
