(ANGOLA) – An Orland man has been sentenced for crimes he committed in June 2023.
Steuben County Prosecutor Travis Musser says 31 year old Jorge Lopez was sentenced Wednesday to 60 years in the Department of Corrections. Lopez was found guilty in February of two felony counts of rape while armed with a deadly weapon, two felony counts of intimidation and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a counterfeit government issued identification.
Court documents show that in June 2023, a teenage girl told authorities that Lopez sexually assaulted her and threatened her with a knife at her home. Authorities say cell phone evidence helped lead to Lopez’s arrest.
