(BURR OAK TOWNSHIP) – One person is dead and another person is injured in a weekend crash in Burr Oak Township.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a single vehicle crash at 6:25 AM Sunday in the area of Lafayette Road and Big Hill Road. Deputies found the vehicle off the roadway with significant damage.
A passenger in the vehicle, a 20 year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 20 year old man, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. He is listed in critical but stable condition.
The preliminary investigation suggests that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
