Three Rivers boys second at D-2 Track Regional

(BERRIEN SPRINGS) – Three Rivers was in action at the Division 2 boys track Regional at Berrien Springs, finishing second overall. Several Wildcats are moving on to the State finals, including Lamonta Stone, who was the Regional Champion in the 100 meters. Sullivan Zietlow was Regional Champion in the 800 meters, while Carter Rice won the Regional Title in both the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles. Also winning a Regional Championship was the 800 meter relay team of Stone, Jeremiah Marzett, Elijah Craig and Blake Stewart. The 400 meter relay team of Stone, Stewart, Craig and Marzett finished second and will advance to the State Finals. They also set a new school record in the event at 42.70, breaking their own record set earlier this year. The 1600 meter relay team of Sullivan Zietlow, Brayden Carpenter, Carter Rice and Charlie Brauer was third and advance to the State Finals. The 3200 meter relay team of Zietlow, Reece Howes, Kyler Copenhaver and Brauer came in second and will move on to the State Finals. Zander Barth finished third in the shot put and will move on to the State Finals, as will Maxwell Burg who came in seventh. David Wills will advance to the State Finals in the high jump after finishing second.
