(NOTTAWA TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle collision in Nottawa Township sent two people to the hospital.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department says at 9:50 AM Saturday, a Chevy pick up was driving north on Nottawa Road. A Hyundai passenger car was on Findley Road going east, and attempted to cross Nottawa Road. The Hyundai pulled into the path of the pick up and the vehicles collided, with the pick up rolling over.
The driver of the pick up, a 34 year old Sturgis woman, and her passenger, a 12 year old boy, were taken to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the car, a 23 year old Naperville, Illinois man, was given a citation for failing to yield to the pick up.
All of the individuals involved were wearing their safety belts.
The Centreville Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
