(COLDWATER) – Charges have been filed against a Quincy man in an alleged domestic incident.
Branch County District Court officials say 36 year old Douglas Longstreet was arraigned Monday on charges of domestic violence second offense, strangulation, and interfering with electronic communications. Longstreet allegedly head butted and chocked a woman. In addition, he is accused of taking her phone and car keys earlier in the day.
Longstreet was arrested following an investigation by the Quincy Police.
The victim had to activate an old phone to call her family for help after the alleged incident. She was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Longstreet is being held in the Branch County Jail on a $35,000 bond. He is scheduled to have a probable cause hearing June 17 and then a preliminary hearing on June 23.
