(BRANCH COUNTY) – The concrete repair work that was supposed to start today in Branch County has now been delayed.
Nick Schrippa with the Michigan Department of Transportation says due to contractor scheduling conflicts, the project start date has been pushed back to either Thursday, September 23 or Friday, September 24.
Crews are planning to make repairs to the concrete on a five mile section of I-69 in the north and southbound lanes from Pearl Road to the Michigan-Indiana State Line.
The interstate will stay open, but there will be single-lane closures while the work is being done. The project should be completed by September 30.
Schrippa says MDOT is investing $129,000 into this project.
