(NEWBERG TOWNSHIP) – A three vehicle crash sent one person to the hospital.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department was called to investigate a traffic crash at 12:40 PM Friday on M-60 west of Corey Lake Road in Newberg Township. Deputies determine that 75 year old Charles Buck of Vandalia was driving his pick up and failed to yield the right of way, turning into the path of a car, driven by 85 year old Clare Trout of Jones. Trout's vehicle hit an SUV driven by 43 year old Khari Clements of Constantine.
Trout's auto went off the road and struck some small trees.
Trout was removed from his automobile and taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Buck and Clements were not hurt in the crash. All of the drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Assisting deputies were the Newberg Fire Department and the SEPSA Ambulance Service.
