(LAGRANGE) – Two candidates have filed to run for LaGrange County Sheriff in 2022.
January 5 was the first day for candidates to file to run in the 2022 elections. Tracy Harker, the current Chief Deputy and Tyler Randol, an officer with the Topeka Police Department, filled out the required paperwork and are now candidates on the Republican ticket for the May primary.
Harker has been with the Sheriff's Department since 1999, where he started as a reserve officer. He has held many different positions during his time with the Department.
Randol served as a deputy with the Sheriff's Department for ten years before leaving for a position with the Topeka Police in 2020.
LaGrange County Sheriff Jeff Campos is in the final year of his second term in office. He can not seek another term of four years because of term limits.
The filing period for the May primary runs until February 4.
