(CENTREVILLE) – The St. Joseph County Commission is changing how often they will be meeting for 2022.
During their meeting last week, the Commissioner approved their meeting schedule for 2022. Instead of meeting twice a month, beginning in February, the Commission will meet just once a month. The new meeting day will be the third Tuesday of every month at 5 PM. That's the same time the Commission has been meeting.
The Commissioners also approved the meeting schedule for their Executive Committee meeting. Those will be the second Tuesday of every month starting at 8 AM.
Both motions were approved by 4-1 votes, with Commissioners Ken Malone casting the lone No vote.
County Administrator Teresa Doehring says going to once a month regular meetings could mean the meetings last longer. She says the Commission could call a special meeting if something comes up that needs addressed immediately.
