(BETHEL TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle crash late Friday afternoon claimed the life of one person and injured several others.
The Michigan State Police say the crash happened in Branch County's Bethel Township. An SUV was driving east on Sikorski Road and failed to stop at the intersection of Gilead Lake Road. The SUV hit a pick up which was heading south on Gilead Lake Road. Both vehicles went into the ditch on the east side of the road.
Troopers say the passenger in the pick up was killed in the crash.
The drivers of the SUV and the pick up were taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo and are listed in critical condition. Two passengers in the SUV were taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital, where they were treated and released.
No names have been released, and the crash is still under investigation.
