(NOBLE TOWNSHIP) – A fire in Branch County’s Noble Township destroyed a barn and all of its contents.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says his department was called out at 3:16 Thursday afternoon for a fire at 812 George Road. Firefighters arrives and found a 40 foot by 80 foot two story barn that was on fire. The Burr Oak and Orland, Indiana Fire Departments provided mutual aid by bringing tankers and an engine.
Wilber says that the barn is a complete loss, along with the items that were inside. That includes two boats, a trailer, a skid steer, 500 square hay bales, 15 round bales, 5 peacocks and several tools.
Damage estimates are at $40,000 for the structure and another $25,000 for the contents. Wilber says a jeep that was parked in the driveway had heat damage at an estimated cost of $1,500.
A cause of the fire is still unknown.
