LANSING -- The Secretary of the State of Michigan Jocelyn Benson made a statement regarding the investigation of illegal access to vote tabulation machines.

In her statement Benson said, “There must be consequences for those who broke the law to undermine our elections in order to advance their own political agendas.”

She noted Attorney General Dana Nessel is conducting an investigation into the tampering of Michigan’s secure voting machines.

Benson closed her statement by saying, “The republican, democratic and nonpartisan election clerks of this state do their jobs with professionalism and integrity.”

She said the State of Michigan, “will continue to ensure they are equipped with a full understanding of the legal protections in place to block bad actors from pressuring them to gain access to secure election systems.”
