
(STURGIS) – It was another record setting night for Jacob Thompson as the senior tailback led the Trojans to a Homecoming night win over Wyoming Kelloggsville 56-0. Thompson started the night off with a 77 yard kick off return for a touchdown. Then from his tailback position, he finished the night with 11 carries for 317 yards, which is a new school record, and 5 touchdowns. LINKC. Taner Patrick threw for a touchdown to Cal Lamb and Damian Avila had a touchdown run. Brock Fergison led the Sturgis defense with 10 tackles while Gibson Cary and Lamb each had 7 tackles. Sturgis is now 4-2 on the season while Kelloggsville drops to 1-5. In addition to what he did on the field, Thompson was named the 2022 Homecoming King and Jillian Romanyk was named Homecoming Queen.
