
(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Historical Society is seeking a part-time Executive Director.
According to a job description released by the Sturgis Historical Society, the Executive Director will provide dynamic leadership and will be asked to direct planning, organization and operations. The Director will also work closely with the Historical Society’s Board of Directors to refine, develop, and implement a progressive program for the Historical Museum At The Depot and the Freight House.
The program would include fundraising, exhibitions, collection management, educational activities and community outreach.
Some of the required qualifications include: preferably having a Bachelor’s Degree; Knowledge of standards and best practices for museums, non-profits or similar organizations; excellent writing and public speaking skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and diplomatically with the Board, volunteers and in community relations and outreach capacities.

Former Director Jenifer Blouin Policelli announced on December 30, 2022 that she was resigning to pursue another career path and to be closer to her home in Indiana. She was hired to become the Executive Director in October 2018.
