
(COLDWATER) – The Coldwater School District has found their next Superintendent.
Following second round interviews Thursday evening with Mr. Jeff Terpenning, Superintendent of Capac Community Schools, and Mr. Paul Flynn, Superintendent of Sandusky Community Schools, the Coldwater Board of Education met and voted to hire Flynn and begin contract negotiations.
The announcement was made on the Coldwater School’s website.
Flynn has been the Superintendent of Sandusky Schools since 2017. Prior to that, he was a high school teacher for eight years in the Yale Public Schools. He then became the Yale High School Assistant Principal and held the position for nine years, and then served as the Yale High School Principal for eight years before moving on to Sandusky.
Flynn received a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Speech from Michigan State University. He then earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University and an Educational Specialist’s Degree in Central Office Administration/Superintendent from Saginaw Valley State University.
Flynn is expected to start his new position on July 1.
Current Coldwater Superintendent Terry Ann Whelan announced that she would be resigning at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, after nine years in the position.
