
(UNDATED) – A police pursuit ended with the arrest of an individual.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says at 7:27 PM Tuesday, deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit that was started by the White Pigeon Police Department. White Pigeon officers attempted to stop a white SUV that was speeding through the village. The SUV took off at a high rate of speed eastbound on U.S. 12, with speeds reaching up to 130 MPH.
The chase went through White Pigeon and Sturgis Townships, and onto Fawn River Road, which is where Sturgis Police put down stop sticks. The pursuit then turned south on M-66 and entered Indiana. The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police joined in the chase, which went west on the Indiana Toll Road, and then came back east.
The suspect, 33 year old Ramon Hall of Washington, D.C. man got off at the Howe Exit, then pulled into the Holiday Inn Hotel just south of the Toll Road. He got out of his car and started to run away, but was captured by LaGrange County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Hall was booked into the LaGrange County Jail on charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and reckless driving. Additional charges are pending from the White Pigeon Police and the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
Also assisting in the chase were the LaGrange Police Department and the Wolcottville Police Department. No injuries were reported in the incident.
