(CENTREVILLE) – Everything seems to be going well for the St. Joseph County Commission On Aging.
COA Executive Director Pam Riley delivered her organization's annual report to the St. Joseph County Commission during their meeting last week. Riley says COVID-19 really put a stop to some of the activities the COA offered along with providing meals to their clients. They were not able to offer meals at their centers, so Riley says they did something a little different. LINKC.
In July 2021, Riley says they were able to start hosting the congregate meal sites again along with other activities.
Riley shares with the Commissioners how many meals they delivered over the last two years. LINKD.
Riley says in both 2021 and 2022, the COA saw an influx of money from several different sources, such as ARPA Funds from the Area Agency On Aging and the Federal Government. She says the money was used to by larger kitchen equipment to help them produce more nutritious food for their members instead of having to order prepared meals.
