(ELKHART) – Authorities say a man who was reported missing was found dead in an Elkhart parking lot.
Elkhart County Sheriff Jeff Siegel says his office was called to the 29,000 block of Southport Drive around 8:50 PM Tuesday. They were told that a 42 year old man did not show up for work as scheduled and never returned home.
Siegel says his deputies found the missing man at 3:40 AM Wednesday. He was dead inside a vehicle in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Hively Avenue. Authorities say he was possibly shot.
The man’s name has not been released. As per department policy and protocol, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit is assisting with this death investigation.
