(THREE RIVERS) – Three Rivers Public Schools is starting to search for a new varsity football head coach.
Three Rivers Athletic Director Matt Stofer told Swick Broadcasting in an e-mail that Chris Gilliam will not be returning for the 2024 season. He said it was the School Administration’s decision to go in a different direction and it would be in the best interest of the school’s football program.
During his one year as head coach at Three Rivers, Gilliam’s team went 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the Wolverine Conference.
Gilliam was hired by Three Rivers in April 2023. He replaced J.J. Wagner, who had been coach for the Wildcats for 18 years, and stepped down following the 2022 season.
Prior to being hired by Three Rivers, Gilliam had been the head coach at Birch Run High School for 19 years, and then spent three years as head coach at Adrian High School.
