(BRONSON) – In a battle between two of the top girls basketball teams in Southern Michigan, No. 2 Colon picked up a win over host Bronson 49-44. Both teams had turnover issues, but the Lady Magi were able to hit their free throws to help get the win. Reese Williams led Colon and all scorers on the night with 21 points, to go along with 5 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks. Megann Mullins added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals while Macey Burgess had 10 points. LINKC. Bronson got a team high 12 points from Brealyn Lasky. LINKD. Payton Springstead added 8 points and Aubree Calloway had 6 points before leaving late in the first quarter with an ankle injury. The victory was also career win No. 50 for Colon head coach Beth Preston. Colon improves to 13-1 with the win while Bronson falls to 11-4.
