(STURGIS) – The Sturgis City Commission heard a final review of the proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
During a Wednesday work session, Sturgis City Manager Andrew Kuk presented the review, highlighting some of the changes that were made to the budget following the July 17 Commission work session.
One of the areas Kuk talked about was the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. LINKC.
Kuk also shared some changes in other areas of the budget.
The budget changes are due to the Commission approving the millage rage for Fiscal Year 2025 at 11.08 mills during their June 26 meeting. That was less than the proposed millage rate of 11.6689 mills.
During Wednesday’s regular meeting, the Commission voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on the budget to take place during their August 14 meeting. The City Charter says the budget must be approved by August 20 each year.
